it's really weird being in the middle on this stuff (as you can tell from quiz on the last page I"m basically right in the middle but leaning toward Obama on final tally) Watching the debate analysis you really kinda see how the stations all lean toward their guy. It's really tough to find a place that is square in the middle and not picked sides yet. One station would show a clip of the debate and then show a clip of them saying the opposite years ago for both Obama and McCain. Basically everyone that is a Dem thought Obama kicked McCain's ass. The Republicans thought McCain hit Obama hard and showed his experience and won. What is really wierd I honestly like parts of both candidates. (and obviously from my quiz I don't hang on party lines. I'm all over the place). I like that McCain has experienced things. I like the fact he's been places. Much like if I'm going somewhere I'd rather talk to someone that's been there and not someone that's just read a lot about it. BUT I also like the knowledge bank of Obama and the openness to try new things and tackle problems in new ways. Breaking the mold. The other thing both candidates have in common is I don't like their VP canidates. Bleh and Bleher. Overall, I guess I'm in a wierd minority of actually having to listen and learn and not cheer and get behind a candidate and not try to degrade the other candidate (I HATE finger pointing and he said/he said...you said/but I meant...you did this/I did that) I understand they have to show each side's flaws and follies. And I'm not really talking so much about the candidates (I actually enjoy when they are honest and say the other is correct on an issue. Honesty is a big characterist I look for. Even if it means saying your opponent is correct on something). More their followers..from Rush Limbaugh to Kieth Obermann and the zillion others. my 2¢...that is only worth 1¢ in today's economy. ![]() Edited by Soyner - Sep 27 2008 at 11:51am |

I don't really do the party thing either but this time around things are different. McCain is looking to pretty much keep Bush economic policies, stay in Iraq and picked a god awful VP candidate. I have never ever factored in that into my voting preference but holy shit she is terrible.
Fuck, how much worse can it get. I think we need a drastic change. I believe Obama can provide that. The Demos just need to keep their hold on Congress that is very important. I will say this though, no matter who wins i will not start judging them domestically until the economy settles down cause no matter who wins they are inheriting a cluster fucked Bush economy 700 Billion in the hole which will prevent them from doing some of the things they have been talking about doing. I'm also looking forward to white racist assholes crying about a black man in the Oval Office.

Has the American presidential campaign gone to the dogs? One could be forgiven for thinking so after seeing the latest issue of Nature magazine. The
world's leading scientific journal has featured a powerful image of
John McCain and Barack Obama on its front cover. The pair radiate
statesmanlike-authority, the image is suitably sombre for the weighty
interview inside. Then, however, you see the back cover.
Unfortunate: The latest issue of Nature ... front and back In an unfortunate choice, advertisers placed there an image of two labrador pups - one black, one golden, in an uncanny mirror image of the grave image on the front. The dogs strike eerily similar poses to Barack Obama, the first black American presidential candidate for a major political party, and his Republican rival John McCain, tanned golden brown from the Arizona sun. The journal swears it is horrified by the coincidence. "We didn't know until the issue landed on our desks," Nature pleaded to the media. "It just goes to show that editorial and advertising aren't working in cahoots." |

Wow. Just wow. If you can get behind a single thing this moron (and McCain is sadly lowering himself to the same base level of idiocy) believe/say, you're an idiot. That's not opinion, that's fact. I'm reading on the internets there are MUCH WORSE from this Kuric interview that haven't made its way public yet. Highlights: She doesn't know who Hamaas is ... She thinks the bailout is about health care ... Can't name a Supreme Court decision other than Roe v. Wade ... And more. |
