USA Schedule:

England vs United States - Saturday June 12th, 14:30 ET (PM)
Slovenia vs United States - Friday June 18th, 10:00 ET (AM)

Group C was a fantastic draw for the USA.  Of course, it's too early to start cheering and booking seats for the knockout stage, but this is the best the USA could have hoped for in this tournament.

Group G has already been labeled the Group of Death.  North Korea should prove a cake walk for each team in that group.  So, the battle will be tight between Brazil, Portugal, and Ivory Coast.

No host country has ever been eliminated in the Group Stage, but South Africa may be the first.  They are going to be hard pressed to advance out of Group A.

Defending champions Italy and the Netherlands have found themselves with the easiest draws.  Each of these teams could very well have a cake walk until they play each other in the quarterfinals.

If anyone uses a calendar on a regular basis, like in Outlook or Thunderbird or Google Calendars, here is the link for the World Cup schedule I made:

A search on Google for "World Cup":

Match 1 Result:

South Africa 1 - 1 Mexico

55' Sipheiwe Tshabalala (RSA)
79' Rafael Marquez (MEX)

______

This was a pretty tame match.  There wasn't a lot of creativity on either side.   There were a few opportunities by each side, but overall it looked like both teams were playing for a tie instead of a win.

Match 2 Result:

Uruguay 0 - 0 France

_____

This was an embarrassment for France.  They played like timid little girls.  They fielded only one striker the entire match, and rarely sent more four men into the attack.  Sitting with 7 men behind the ball for 88 of the 90 minutes is just horrible.  Bunch of French pansies.

Match 3 Result

South Korea 2-0 Greece

______

South Korea really performed well.  They controlled the game for 80% of the match.  They were creative, fast, and aggressive. A well-deserved win.

Greece, well, Greece performed like their economy.  They were slow, lazy, and constantly diving.  The score would have been worse if the referee hadn't bailed them out on a few occasions.

______

That USA v Algeria match was the most gut-wrenching I've watched in a long while.

USA vs Ghana starts in an hour on ABC (2:30pm ET, 1:30pm CT, 11:30am PT), and I fully expect every one of you bastards to do you patriotic duty and watch the match.

Kick-off is in a couple of minutes. You all better be camped out in front of a TV watching it.
