Batman: Arkham Asylum (Game of the Year Edition) This was the game I was trying to remember to tell you on the phone. DL the demo and check it out, it seems pretty fun.

Try Red Dead Redemption and look into Fallout 3

I agree with all of the suggestions Beezer made. I never played Fallout 1 or 2, but I really enjoyed 3. The story stands alone. Batman and Red Dead are also great games.

Of the games you listed, my favorite is Demon's Souls, by a long shot. The game is pretty hard, it's not for everyone. You will die a lot. But that game is easily my favorite RPG this generation (and I still haven't gotten too far in it). Demon's Souls is a game that you will either absolutely love, or you will hate every second of it.

I really liked inFamous a lot, but if you didn't like the demo, maybe it's not for you.

Yeah, there's no need to play the first two Fallouts at all.

Soyner and Rooper both loved Fallout 3 as well.  I didn't like it myself, but that's mainly because I'm not a fan of post-apocalyptic settings.  The game itself is good. There is a ton of high quality DLC add-ons for it, and there is still a major expansion (Fallout New Vegas) coming in October.  New Vegas is actually being created by a separate company, Obisidian Entertainment.  They are a sub-developer of BioWare, and they did Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.  If you liked Elder Scrolls IV, you'll probably like Fallout 3.

I agree with Sford on Demon's Souls.  It is an excellent, yet polarizing game.  It is, without a doubt, hardcore.  You will die.  You will die often.  The term 'boss fight' had this game in mind when it was coined.  In fact, the only way to get any trophies for this game is to beat bosses and sub-bosses.  I love this game, and I have yet to get anywhere near finishing it.  HARD.

And yes, this game is punishing.  When you go into a boss fight you go in knowing that if you die you are basically fucked.  Sure, you'll have your weapons and unused items and other gear when you get respawned in the Nexus, but all the souls you collected up to the point you died will be gone.  If you can make it to the location where you died, without dying again, you can recover them.  Die before you get there, though, and bam, they're gone for good.  PUNISHING.  This game is not for the faint of heart.

Red Dead Redemption is damn good story, good voice acting, and it's not too long.  I think I finished it around the 30 hour mark.  That includes all the aimless wandering in the beautiful desert environment and the random whole-sale slaughter of wild animals I partook in.  Good fun.

Batman Arkam Assylum is also damn good.  The story, gameplay, characters, and graphics are all top notch. TOP.  You can't go wrong with this one.

If you want SOCOM 2 on steriods, you can try out MAG.  It's leaps and bounds better than Confronation, but still behind MW2 in terms of graphics and controls.  It's online only, though, so keep that in mind.  Zipper is doing a fantastic job of managing the game since it released back in January.

inFAMOUS had a great story.  The game itself was good enough that I beat it twice, once as good and once as evil.  I can't wait for the sequel.  I can't comprehend why people don't like this game.

Uncharted 1 and 2 are damn fine games.  Uncharted 2 is the only game in which I earned a platinum trophy.  The story, controls, characters, puzzles, and graphics are excellent.  Nolan North IS Nathan Drake.

Mass Effect 1 and 2, if for no other reason than the Asari are damn hot. HOT. H.O.T. HOT.

Yea Fallout looks like it might be too much time consumption but a awesome game. Im gonna wait till winter to get FF13 when I have RPG time. Idk just watched a video review of Infamous, it definitely looks like its hella fun but the demo seemed really weak to me. Maybe because I didnt unlock anything... idk

Demons Souls looks kick ass. Im probally gonna go with that and maybe RE5.

Was Killzone 2 good?

edit* all Ive been playing is MW2 I havent gotten the new maps - because I'm honestly getting a little bored with doing the same thing everyday. lol

I'm pretty sure they patched the killzone controls to make them a little bit better. If you want a unique console shooter for online purposes go for it...the single player is pretty meh from what I have heard.

I have to highly recommend Uncharted. The first one was good, but the second one was amazing, IMO.

Everyone complained about the lag when the Killzone 2 demo came out, so a few weeks after launch, they released a patch to decrease the "lag". It still lags, but it's not as bad. The single player game didn't really hold my attention though. But the multiplayer is really fun.

And if you're really interested in Bayonetta, you may want to just get it for PS3. The reviews were all reviewing the game when it launched. Sega patched the game after launch, allowing the user to install the entire game to the harddrive. That supposedly fixed the framerate issues. I haven't played this game myself though, I'm just going off of what I've read online.

I wouldn't get devil may cry 4 it was shit compared to 3.

Due to Toys r Us' terrible selection I went with 2 that were $40 picked up Bayonetta and Batman Arkham Asylum...
